Fans can gear up for a thrilling night of top-class arrows on Sunday evening as the second day of the 2025 German Darts Grand Prix continues in Munich. The evening session promises fireworks, with major names such as Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price, and tournament favourite Luke Littler all set to take to the stage in this prestigious Euro Tour event.
Now in its seventh edition, the German Darts Grand Prix was first held in Mannheim in 2017, where Van Gerwen claimed the inaugural title. The event relocated to Munich the following year, with ‘Mighty Mike’ defending his crown in 2018 and 2019. After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Luke Humphries triumphed in 2022. Michael Smith took the title in 2023, before Humphries lifted the trophy once again in 2024.

James Wade vs Niels Zonneveld

The evening opens with a Dutch presence in each of the first four matches, starting with Niels Zonneveld facing James Wade. 'Triple Z' secured his spot with an impressive 6–3 victory over Daryl Gurney in round one. Wade, a semi-finalist at the Belgian Darts Open earlier this season, has since struggled for consistency—crashing out in the first round of the last two Euro Tour events.
Zonneveld won both of their first meetings back in 2020, but since then, ‘The Machine’ has turned the tide and now leads their head-to-head 6–3.

Gerwyn Price vs Raymond van Barneveld

One of the standout fixtures of the night pits Gerwyn Price against Dutch legend Raymond van Barneveld. ‘The Iceman’ is in scintillating form, having collected two Players Championship titles and two Premier League nightly wins in recent weeks. On the Euro Tour, Price has already posted two monstrous averages above 110 this year but is still chasing his first final appearance, having exited twice at the quarter-final stage and once in the third round.
Van Barneveld, celebrating his 58th birthday on Sunday, looked sharp in a 6–3 win over Michael Rosenauer on Saturday. He holds a narrow 8–6 advantage in their head-to-head, but Price has dominated their recent meetings—winning the last four in commanding fashion.

Dave Chisnall vs Dirk van Duijvenbode

This clash sees two power scorers collide, but both have occasionally faltered on the doubles. Dave Chisnall, a six-time Euro Tour title winner over the past three years, has yet to find top gear in 2025—his best showing being a quarter-final at the Belgian Darts Open.
Dirk van Duijvenbode, meanwhile, delivered a strong 6–1 win over Andy Boulton in round one, marking his third second-round appearance of the season. He edged Chisnall 6–5 in their only previous Euro Tour encounter in 2022, although Chisnall leads their overall rivalry 3–2.

Michael van Gerwen vs Kim Huybrechts

Kim Huybrechts made the most of a late call-up to the event, crushing debutant Finn Behrens 6–0 with a 104.86 average. Now, ‘The Hurricane’ faces a familiar foe in Michael van Gerwen, who returns after missing the last Euro Tour event due to injury. The Dutchman did reach the semi-finals of the European Darts Trophy and remains one of the tournament favourites.
While Huybrechts enjoyed some early success against Van Gerwen—winning eight of their first 18 meetings—Van Gerwen has since won a staggering 17 consecutive matches, taking a commanding 28–10 lead in their head-to-head.

Luke Littler vs Cam Crabtree

With Luke Humphries absent, Luke Littler is the top seed on the Euro Tour for the first time in his young career. ‘The Nuke’ successfully defended his Belgian Darts Open title earlier this year but missed the last two events.
Littler opens his campaign against 21-year-old Cam Crabtree, who caused a minor upset by defeating Luke Woodhouse 6–5 in the first round.

Peter Wright vs Mike De Decker

For the second time this season, Peter Wright and Mike De Decker face off in a Euro Tour second round match. Their previous meeting came at the European Darts Trophy, where De Decker won 6–4. The Belgian has already made a final this year at the Belgian Darts Open and reached the third round in that event.
Wright had a slow start to his Euro Tour campaign with two opening-round defeats but reached the quarter-finals at the International Darts Open earlier this month. De Decker has won their last three meetings, narrowing the head-to-head to 6–3 in Wright’s favour after the Scot had taken the first six.

Jonny Clayton vs Martin Schindler

Martin Schindler impressed on Saturday with a 6–3 win over Mario Vandenbogaerde, averaging 102.83. The German, nicknamed ‘The Wall,’ won two Euro Tour titles last season and has continued to shine in 2025 with a semi-final run at the International Darts Open and a Players Championship victory.
His opponent, Jonny Clayton, recently returned to form by winning Players Championship 14 with a stunning tournament average of 103.59. Despite his hot form, Clayton has twice exited early on the Euro Tour this season. Notably, Schindler holds a 3–0 record over ‘The Ferret’ in Euro Tour meetings, though Clayton leads their overall series 6–5.

Ross Smith vs Jermaine Wattimena

Ross Smith was one of the Euro Tour standouts in 2024, reaching two finals and two semi-finals. The Englishman has carried that momentum into 2025, reaching the final day of each Euro Tour event so far, including a semi-final run at the Belgian Darts Open.
He’ll face Jermaine Wattimena, who beat Michael Unterbuchner 6–3 in round one despite a modest average of 88. This will be their 12th meeting, with Wattimena holding a 6–5 edge in their head-to-head clashes.

TV Guide

The tournament will be broadcast by PDC TV. As usual with Euro Tour tournaments, the German Darts Grand Prix consists of three tournament days. The afternoon sessions start daily at 12 p.m., while the evening sessions start at 6 p.m.
The first round will take place on Saturday. The 16 Pro Tour players are then paired with one of the 16 players who managed to get through the various qualifying tournaments. The top-16 seeded players enter the tournament on Sunday in the second round. The denouement of the tournament follows on Monday, with the third round first in the afternoon session. Monday night the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will follow.

Distribution of prize money

All participants starting from the first round are guaranteed £1250 in prize money, while the top-16 enter from the second round and receive £2,500 anyway. This amount eventually rises to the grand prize of £30,000 for the winner.
An important detail is that players who are automatically seeded via the Order of Merit and lose their first match will not be awarded prize money on the various rankings. This does apply to qualifiers who are later designated as seeded by the withdrawal of others.
