The final four matches of the second round at the 2025
World Cup of Darts are set to take place tonight in Frankfurt, and with them, the last seeded nations are finally stepping into the spotlight.
England, Wales, and Scotland will all begin their campaigns, with one of the tournament’s most anticipated clashes scheduled early in the session.
Scotland and Netherlands set for blockbuster showdown
Darts fans won’t have to wait long for tonight’s main event. In the second match of the evening, Scotland will face the Netherlands in what promises to be the standout tie of the second round. The Dutch duo of
Danny Noppert and
Gian van Veen have looked arguably the most impressive of all teams so far, recording back-to-back 4–0 victories in the group stage against Italy and Hungary. Their performance against the Italians featured an average well above 95.
By contrast,
Gary Anderson and
Peter Wright are making their first appearance and face immediate pressure. While both Scots are capable of world-class darts on their day, much will depend on whether they can find top form from the start. If not, they could be overrun by a confident and well-oiled Dutch team.
England’s super duo take on fired-up hosts Germany
In the third match of the night, the long-awaited pairing of
Luke Littler and
Luke Humphries will make their debut for England. But their path is far from straightforward: they’ll face Germany’s Martin Schindler and Ricardo Pietreczko, who looked sharp in the group stage with wins over Portugal (4–2) and Singapore (4–0). Against Singapore, they averaged well over 95.
On paper, Littler and Humphries are clear favourites. But with the German duo playing on home soil in front of a passionate Frankfurt crowd, the English stars will need to be sharp from the very first dart.

Philippines look to keep dream alive against Wales
Tonight’s opening match will see Wales finally enter the tournament. The team of
Gerwyn Price and
Jonny Clayton face a potential banana skin in the form of the Philippines, who stunned fans in the group stage.
Paolo Nebrida and Lourence Ilagan first defeated Latvia 4–2, before pulling off a spectacular comeback to knock out Belgium 4–3. Trailing 3–0, they capitalised on seven missed match darts by the Belgians and stormed back to victory.
Wales are the heavy favourites on paper, but if the Filipinos can stay close early on, they could turn it into a thrilling contest.
Argentina hope to extend dream debut against Australia
The final match of the evening session features Argentina, who are enjoying a dream debut at the World Cup. Jesús Salate and Víctor Guillin booked a surprise place in the second round with wins over Finland (4–1) and New Zealand (4–3).
They now face Australia’s
Simon Whitlock and
Damon Heta, who have also impressed. The Aussies cruised past Spain (4–0) and Austria (4–1), both times posting team averages well over 90. Against Spain, they came close to the 100 mark.
The Argentinians have already exceeded expectations, but they'll need another step up in performance if they hope to continue their fairytale run against the experienced Australians.
