Martin Schindler started his participation in the
German Darts Open in Jena on Saturday evening with a 6-3 victory over Dutchman Danny van Trijp.
The German saw Van Trijp come back to 3-3 after a 3-1 lead, but then Schindler made the difference with a 14-darter, 90 finish and a 13-darter. Especially the finishes were going well for 'The Wall', who recorded a 46 percent checkout percentage.
''When the scores don't fall right, you have to make sure the finishes are right. Fortunately that was the case", Schindler said after his match against Van Trijp.
Schindler plays
Gerwyn Price in the last 16. The last three encounters, all on television, were won by the Welshman. Schindler remembers that well too. "If I look at our past, there are still one or two accounts to settle. In that respect, the battle is on.''
