Schindler eases past Kanik, Marijanovic whitewashes struggling Lewis

The action has began in the International Darts Open with Robert Marijanovic whitewashing a struggling Jamie Lewis and Martin Schindler easing past Tytus Kanik.

Marijanovic averaged 99 and hit 55% on the doubles to counteract a 57 average from Lewis with only two scores over 100 throughout.

'Fireball' who has shown so much promise before but is likely to lose his Tour Card at the end of the year and after the PDC Autumn Series, he took a step away from darts temporarily.

While for Schindler, it was also comprehensive. He saw off Kanik in a 6-1 win with a 90 average and a high checkout of 112.

For Kanik, he was poor on the doubles which was the difference with his only consolation being a 170 checkout. Barring that, it was 1/9 on the doubles as he heads home with 'The Wall' through.
