Kleermaker survives seven match darts against debutant Ballaj, Razma claims hard fought victory over Leung

The action continues at the International Darts Open with victories for Scott Baker, Martijn Kleermaker and Madars Razma in Riesa.

Baker was making his European Tour debut and it was a perfect one for 'The Mod' who saw off Michael Unterbuchner in a 6-4 win. He averaged 94 in victory with 12 140's hit throughout the tie.

Fine margins on doubles also got him through with 30% compared to 23% from his opponent who goes out at the first hurdle once more like in Sindelfingen.

Kleermaker is somehow through despite surviving seven match darts against debutant qualifier Arsen Ballaj in a 6-5 victory.

This was also despite an 85 average and just 28% on the doubles from 'The Dutch Giant' who like last time out failed to show his top level in his first game. Next up will be Krzysztof Ratajski.

Then it was the turn of Madars Razma who held off a fightback from 4-1 down from Kai Fan Leung to trail 5-4 as he moved through in a 6-4 victory but it won't get any easier when he takes on Michael van Gerwen next up.
