The final many were predicting before play began this weekend has been set as Scotland will face Wales in the final of the 2023
World Cup of Darts.
Rivals in the singles will lock horns again but in pairs as
Gary Anderson and
Peter Wright face Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton shortly.
It was the end of an incredible run for Germany who just fell short of a maiden final in an 8-5 defeat to Scotland as Martin Schindler and Gabriel Clemens couldn't bring home glory to Frankfurt.
Germany led to start the tie going 2-0 up after Clemens sealed an early break of throw.
But Wright hit a 100 checkout to level up after a break back from Anderson. Germany retook the lead but it was four legs on the spin for Scotland who went 5-3 ahead.
The hosts stopped the rot in style with a 137 checkout but Anderson hit double 20 to go two away from home.
There was final foray from Germany to hold at 5-6.
But a 109 checkout after Germany missed five darts for a break followed by double 20 off 66 quelled the hopes of the home heroes as Wright became the hero.
