Wales came into this year's
World Cup of Darts as the out and out favourites with duo
Gerwyn Price and
Jonny Clayton of course being two of the best singles players in the world.
But also close friends off the oche with true cohesion as a unit and they showed that once again on Sunday evening in Frankfurt.
It was a second World Cup of Darts triumph for the duo thrashing Scotland 10-2 with
Gary Anderson's return not heralding a title return. Albeit he will be at his beloved Grand Slam of Darts after missing it last year.
It was all too easy for Wales throughout and this showed with Scotland stopping the rot at 3-1 with a 93 checkout.
But they were soon well behind again. Wright wired 147 and Clayton was clinical as he hit 67 for a 4-1 lead and Price followed it up for a 104 to go 5-1 up.
Again it was a i miss you hit scenario as Wright missed 158 and Clayton again pinned the winning double to make it 6-1.
The combination finishing in the latter half was sensational from Wales who hit a 116 each from both Price and Clayton to put them on the brink at 9-2.
Anderson had one final crack at 98 after Price missed match darts but Clayton wasn't to be denied and hit double eight to seal it.
