Ryan Searle is through to the Third Round of the 2021/22 PDC
World Darts Championship after breezing through in a commanding win over William Borland who he expected more from.
"Probably rate that a 5/10. Obviously Willie played well in his first game and I was expecting probably a little bit more from him. The crowd were ridiculously loud considering it's the first game in the afternoon, maybe that put him off a little bit. You can do nothing more than win, I took my chances at the right time and I'm looking to go a lot further in the tournament than I am right now," said Searle post match.
Next up could be Danny Noppert and it is a game he wants to tick a final box on his list.
"I've said in previous interviews that I want Danny Noppert to win his next game because I want to beat him so bad. I've never beaten Danny, I think he's the only one in the top 32 I've not beaten in the past and I might say this and he may smash me 4-0 but I want to try and turn the tables after Christmas."
Towards the end of the tie, he had an issue with a potential miscount with referee George Noble which he spoke about.
"He said you hit a treble seven and I couldn't believe that, I was like you're talking rubbish. I can't remember what I had left. I sort of said I had 22 left and half questioned it. My eyesight is my biggest weakness in the game and I was lucky to get away with it."
