The PDC has announced which sixteen players are automatically qualified for the Hungarian Darts Trophy. This European Tour tournament in the Hungarian capital, Budapest is scheduled from September 22 to 24.
Players in the top-16 of the PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit are automatically invited to the tournament and may even enter the event from the second round. Thus, Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price and reigning world champion Michael Smith among others, do not have to play a qualifying tournament.

Top players such as Dave Chisnall, Luke Humphries, Josh Rock, Rob Cross, Dirk van Duijvenbode, Jonny Clayton, Peter Wright and Danny Noppert are also competing at the Hungarian Darts Trophy.
The field of participants for this Euro Tour tournament consists of 48 players. The remaining 31 participants come from various qualification tournaments. On Monday, August 28, Tour Card holders will get the chance to qualify at a qualifying tournament where no less than 24 spots are up for grabs.
