Top-16 seeded players for German Darts Open with Price, Clayton, Van Gerwen and Michael Smith absent

The top-16 seeded players for the 2023 German Darts Open have been announced. The event is the next Euro Tour tournament on the calendar and will be played from September 8 to 10 in Jena, Germany.

However, German fans will have to do without top players Gerwyn Price, Jonny Clayton, Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith. These players are all not taking advantage of their seeded status and are opting for a weekend off.

Leading the seedings list at the German Darts Open is Dave Chisnall. Furthermore, top players such as Luke Humphries, Dirk van Duijvenbode, Peter Wright, Danny Noppert and Nathan Aspinall are also in the tournament. Gabriel Clemens and Ricardo Pietreczko received a wildcard because they are the highest-ranked Germans on the ranking who did not qualify yet. Martin Schindler already qualified for the German Darts Open via the Pro Tour rankings.

The field of participants for this Euro Tour tournament consists of 48 players. The remaining 30 participants come from various qualifying tournaments. On Monday, August 28, Tour Card holders will have the chance to qualify at a qualifying tournament where as many as 24 spots are up for grabs.
