Gerwyn Price is one of the biggest names in the sport of darts at the minute. Away from the board though, he also is incredibly passionate about greyhound racing.
"I won what I thought was the last Welsh derby," Price tells Greyhound Trader in an interview from Welsh track 'The Valley', recalling some of his biggest wins. "But they had another one this year. At least I won one of them before it finished."
Aside from just placing a bet or two on the races, Price also owns his own runners. "We don't really know how good those dogs are yet," he explains. "We had a couple of dogs bred with a good dog from a couple of years ago and we've got two litters there. We kept five or six from each litter back so we'll see what they go like when they start running. It's good to be involved, things are looking good at the track."
The life of a top darter doesn't allow much time for dog racing though, and Price is soon to be off on his travels once again. "I'm going to Germany this weekend, hopefully get some good game time under my belt because I've missed a lot of tournaments over the last couple of weeks. Hopefully get some prize money and invest in some more dogs."
