The first Quarter-Final at the
German Darts Grand Prix is set with
Michael Smith set to face
Keane Barry this evening in Munich after two contrasting displays to open proceedings.
Smith faced off against Gerwyn Price in a game highly billed due to their prowess in particular 'The Iceman' given his recent
European Tour form, but it was 'Bully Boy' who produced an utterly sensational display.
It was a statement as he won 6-2 with a 108 average, five 180's and two ton plus checkouts in 121 and 106 with four in total back-to-back. Utterly sublime from Smith.
While Barry similarly was sublime but in a comeback against Berry van Peer who froze when it mattered most missing six match darts after going 5-1 up against the Irishman.
Going for his first European Tour Quarter-Final, he couldn't fall over the line and 'Dynamite' blew away his chances in a 6-5 win. Now he is into his first Quarter-Final but a tough battle awaits against Smith.
