Dirk van Duijvenbode will not have another good run on the
European Tour this week at the
German Darts Grand Prix with his compatriot,
Danny Noppert overcoming him to reach the Quarter-Finals in Munich.
In a Double Dutch darting duel, it was Noppert that prevailed 6-2 and averaged over 104 in a terrific display. Van Duijvenbode spent most of the clash seemingly distracted and Noppert took full advantage.
As well as producing the prowess scoring wise including two 180's, he was also deadly on the doubles with 6/8 compared to 2/8 from Van Duijvenbode who ironically won both of his legs in ton plus fashion including a 156.
While after an interesting walk-on,
Damon Heta attempted to get the crowd on his side and he moved through after downing Chris Dobey 6-5.
He maintained his unbeaten record with another superb display sealing it with a 98.3 average. A superb 138 set up from Heta left 32 which he pinned last dart with Dobey unable to take out 161.
