Fallon Sherrock failed to beat
Peter Wright on Friday night at the
World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam. The 'Queen of the Palace' offered fine resistance, but lost 6-4 to the reigning world champion.
Sherrock did not miss a single dart on the doubles, which allowed her to keep up until 4-4. Then Wright showed his class with a 13-darter and a 76 finish to make the difference.
''Really enjoyed last night'', said Sherrock in a reaction on Twitter. ''The result wasn’t what I wanted but happy with the way I played. Peter Wright was brilliant and thank you for the kind words. The Amsterdam crowd were amazing last night.''
The Englishwoman is now focusing on the PDC Women's Series, where she will try to secure World Championship participation. Sherrock is provisionally qualified for the 2022/23 PDC World Darts Championship, but will have to pull out all the stops in the last four tournaments to hold off the likes of Aileen de Graaf and Women's World Champion Beau Greaves.
