Michael Smith has boosted his Premier League play-off hopes and dented Rob Cross's chances of making it to the next phase as a result with a 7-3 victory.

Cross is now rooted to the foot of the table going into Judgement Night after Daryl Gurney claimed successive victories including tonight against Nathan Aspinall.
Smith as a result of this victory is up to third and is looking good for the play-offs potentially especially with Aspinall's defeat.
It was five 180's and a 96.5 average for Smith as Cross's form woes. He produced a fine start going 3-0 up with a break of throw which included multiple costly darts at double from Cross.
Cross put his stamp on the tie with two legs in a row including a sensational 143 checkout and he made it parity from there.
But a pivotal break with more missed doubles saw Smith go one away from the point which he achieved. A 15-darter claimed it after more missed doubles from Cross as he clutch hit double 16 to win.
