Ross Smith sealed a 2-1 success over one of the most in-form players in the world of darts so far this season in Andrew Gilding as he will now face Martin Lukeman in the second round at the
World Grand Prix.
"I don't think I do things easy full stop. I had to win one game to get here for a start last week in Belgium so my family are always pulling their hair out with me. They say can't you do it halfway through but obviously not," said Smith post match.
"Andrew wasn't at his best thankfully but he's such a good player and he's come off the back of another Euro final so I know I was up for a big game. The double start is anyone's really."
But now he has another target on his mind going into the back end of the year with Muswell Hill a specific aim."To win it, my target is to do a Rob Cross and win the World Championship or do a Dimitri and win the World Matchplay. I'm not going to sit here and say I want to be in the Last 16 or Quarter-Final."
