Joe Cullen is through to the second round of the World Grand Prix after seeing off Damon Heta in a superb win and will now face Gerwyn Price in the second round.
"I know we've drawn each other in a couple of tournaments but that's a straight start. I think Damo I saw a stat which said he had the best checkout percentage of the year out of anyone so this should suit him and you saw in the second set that when he got on a roll, he was tough to stop," said Cullen post match.
"Even if I would have played anywhere near how I could in that second set, I think I would still struggle to stay with him. That's testament to the work he puts in on the doubles but it was just about getting the win, who cares if you look good or bad doing it."
Going into this tournament, there has also been a mindset shift for 'The Rockstar' after his success in recent months.
"I turn up now knowing I can win whereas you turn up before with a chance of winning. I know I can win now so I've had a steady year. It could have been a lot better but over the course of my career I would have took it."
