Smith moves into Belgian Darts Championship Final with victory over Wright

Michael Smith is the first player through to the final at the Belgian Darts Championship after defeating Peter Wright in a 7-5 victory.

Smith avenged the defeat he suffered in the final of the Masters by defeating the current World Champion.

As a result he will face either Dirk Van Duijvenbode or Gerwyn Price to claim the first European Tour title of the season.

In the end stats wise, he hit a 102 average as well as four 180’s and 58 percent on the doubles.

Wright would have thought he had the initiative when he went 5-4 up with a break of throw but three straight legs including a 110 checkout en route saw the St Helens ace take the tie.

If he wins later tonight, it will be his first European Tour triumph since Gibraltar in 2017 and will represent his first title of the season which he potentially should have had in MK.
