Smith, Wattimena and Brown reach career-high rankings on PDC Order of Merit

The PDC Order of Merit has been updated after the latest European Tour weekend which saw Jamie Hughes claim victory at the Czech Darts Open.
Michael Smith, Jermaine Wattimena and Keegan Brown are three players who have made it to career-high ranking positions in the PDC Order of Merit as a result.
Smith has moved to a career high number 5 ranking despite losing in his second round tie against Corey Cadby. Wattimena reached the last 16 and as a result is up to 22nd and the now Dutch number two continues to rise.
As does Brown who reached the semi-finals in Prague and as a result sits inside the top 32 at 28th in the world. 'The Needle' had a bad couple of years after showing early promise but finally seems to be reaching his best form.
Jamie Hughes, the champion in Prague and fellow BDO switcher Glen Durrant have also moved up. 'Yozza' is just outside the top 64 at 67th showing his form this year; the same can be said for 'Duzza' who is into the top 64.
This is remarkable progress for the duo after only a few months on the tour and now both will be rewarded with a debut at the World Matchplay in Blackpool in a few weeks time.

- As prize money increases each year and there are now more tournaments then logically breaking the £2 million barrier is going to happen, only thing preventing it is the now deeper strength in depth of the darting field. If you took Taylor’s best two consecutive years and substituted the prize money from now onto the tournaments he won he would have passed the £2 million.Mysstree26-11-2024
