Gian van Veen claimed himself a PDC Tour Card at the beginning of this season at Q-School and has so far managed to leave a huge impression with his impressive performances.
Van Veen owes this in part to the fact that he is very effective on the doubles. According to statistics platform Darts Orakel, Van Veen particularly excels at hitting the double 16.
The Dutchman has the highest checkout percentage of all darters who have thrown more than 30 darts at the double 16 in TV or stream matches in 2023. In as many as 57 percent of cases, Van Veen managed to hit the double 16 when aiming for it.
In this statistic, Brendan Dolan is in second place with 53 percent. Jim Williams records a percentage of 51 percent, while Matt Campbell stands at 50 percent. The fifth spot is held by Rob Cross with 48 percent.

- I completely agree with Vincent's comments on "whistlegate". It's great to have someone with Vincent's exprience address this issue, so hopefully clearer and stricter guidlelines can be given to referees, security and members of the crowd. No whistling during throws, and something like: whistlers evicted and fined a hefty sum.
