Stephen Bunting and
Martin Schindler qualified for the last eight at the
Austrian Darts Open in Graz on Sunday afternoon. Sunday evening, the Englishman and the German face each other in the quarterfinals.
Bunting quickly made the difference in his match against Daryl Gurney. Including an 11-darter, 14-darter and a 15-darter, 'The Bullet' quickly gained a comfortable 4-0 lead. Gurney then halved the deficit with a 12-darter and a 66 finish, before Bunting recorded the 5-2 with a 62 finish.
Gurney was then able to take one more leg before the match was decided via a 13-darter from Bunting. The reigning Masters champion was able to put up excellent numbers; an average of 104.64, four 180 scores and a finishing percentage of 60 percent.
Schindler made it to the quarter-finals of a Euro Tour tournament for the third time this season. The German took full advantage of the chances offered to him by opponent Jonny Clayton and won the match 6-3.
