Suljovic wants to prove his son wrong: 'He told me my career was finished'

Mensur Suljovic is through to the third round of the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship after seeing off Matthew Edgar in a superb victory.

Next up will be a tough task as he faces Gary Anderson, a player he knows well from some brilliant matches previously including the 2018 World Matchplay final. He spoke about Anderson as well as how his son helped to change his focus.

"Today was a good performance from me because this has never been a good tournament for me," said Suljovic.

"This year has not been good for me. It has been really hard. Even my son told me papa I think it's finished for you but I promised him that I would give it my best for the next five years.

"I'm looking forward to playing Gary next. He's a fantastic player and a gentleman. I will practice every day over Christmas to be ready for that match."
