Ricky Evans battled back from a set down to defeat Mickey Mansell in the second round of the 2020/21 PDC
World Darts Championship.
Evans admitted after a poor first set, he started to become aggressive and it seemingly worked. Next up is Michael van Gerwen and he knows that it won't be easy against the World Number One.
"Just to win, I knew it was going to be a bit of a chase. Personally I thought I played alright last three sets, I don't think I played that bit," said Evans post match.
"I've always thought just do what you do because I actually enjoy playing slow players. The first set I thought my Dad was playing, last three sets I genuinely enjoyed it."
"I'm a big show off, I like the do my dances, fast 180's but the last three sets, I was snarling, I felt like I'd just spent £2 on Haribo or something."
"He's not been at his brilliant best but he won the last TV event and he played brilliant last match against Ryan Murray. I'm a big Michael fan, my first game in England Youth was against him 16 years ago. I've got the hardest task in darts now haven't I."
