Michael Smith and
Ryan Meikle are the latest players through to the Last 16 at the
Hungarian Darts Trophy in Budapest after seeing off Daryl Gurney and Krzysztof Ratajski respectively on Saturday afternoon.
Smith was facing Gurney after the latter's storming 105 average yesterday to ease past Nathan Rafferty but he couldn't reproduce against 'Bully Boy' who eased through in a whitewash win.
He saw Gurney miss ten darts at double in an out of sorts display with Smith able to pick up the pieces sat at 50% overall throughout the tie.
While Meikle survived a close shave as he edged past Krzysztof Ratajski in a crucial 6-4 win over the Polish Number One who continues his poor run of form on the
European Tour at the expense of The Barber.
It is crucial as it could see him seal a spot in the European Championship this weekend as he currently sits in the provisional places with only a few events to go and could yet go further.
