Peter Wright lost out in his World Championship defence to Gabriel Clemens in the third round and Phil Taylor has advised him to stop switching darts.
Wright is known for tinkering even mid game when he brings multiple sets onto the stage and speaking in a recent interview with the PDC, he believes the pressure also got to him during his World title year.
"I would definitely get a dart that suits him," added the Stoke great.
"Swapping and changing isn't doing him any favours, but he performs and he's a brilliant player.
"I think the pressure took its toll this year, I could see it in his eyes when he was playing. He was nervous and he was heartbroken when he walked off the stage, but it's something you have to learn.
"You have to go through this, sometimes knocking you down does you good because you get back up a bit stronger."
bit rich coming from Taylor , he's had about 15 phases of his darts out and you never saw him use the same set 2 world championships on the trot.
Taylor probably could have advised him to drop the ridiculous clown outfits too and take the game a bit more seriously.
yes, let's all watch 128 james wades throw arrows. or maybe not. wright is a character and a superb player. To be honest i've got very little interest in anything phil taylor has to say.
