Taylor World Matchplay

The World Matchplay begins on the 18th July with the Phil Taylor trophy set to be contested behind closed doors at the Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes. Ahead of the tournament beginning, we take a look at the highest averages in its history.

Taylor unsurprisingly tops the list with a 114.99 average in his First Round victory over Barrie Bates back in 2010, a tournament in which he defeated Raymond van Barneveld in the final.
Showing his absolute sheer dominance in the tournament, he has a further 23 efforts in the standings with his next highest being in 1997 in the first round where hit 113.43.
Only Michael van Gerwen, Adrian Lewis, Gary Anderson and Peter Wright appear also in the list. The former having three inside the highest averages, his top one being 110.93 in the Last 16 back in 2015.
For Lewis, it is 110.51 in the first round back in 2014 which is the sixth best on the list. While Anderson and Wright have 106.06 and 108.13 respectively as their highest efforts.
Can anyone add themselves to the list and even beat Taylor's highest mark over the next week in Milton Keynes?
