Taylor survives comeback to edge past Suzuki in Darts from Home charity soft-tip tie

Phil Taylor is the victor in the latest iteration of the Darts from Home soft-tip clashes as he saw off Mikuru Suzuki but he had to survive a comeback to claim a 7-5 victory in the end.

Taylor was 5-2 up but saw his lead cut with Suzuki making it 5-5 but 'The Power's late brilliance saw him get over the line with a 109.18 average in the end.

'The Miracle' averaged 99.62 over the best of 13 legs format with Taylor hitting 63 percent of his doubles compared to 55 percent from Suzuki.

They hit six and four 180's respectively with further money going to their respective charities through one dart finishes. This meant that Taylor raised £6,800 for the NHS charity Heroes and Suzuki raised £4,400 for Peace Winds. Quality darts for a great cause!

Taylor started with an 11 dart leg raising £1,000 already for charity with a 180. He followed it up with another one to trouble the throw of Suzuki.

He was down to 143 with Suzuki not on a finish and a 119 set up shot saw Taylor pin double 12 second time around for 2-0. It was three 180's in three legs for 'The Power'; but 'Miracle' got in on the act claiming her first.

He went on to leave 81 and Suzuki could only get down to 126. The former pinned it in two darts to put £200 more onto the tally; by hitting the double at the first attempt, 3-0 to Taylor. Suzuki was in again hitting another 180; while Taylor fluffed his lines after applauding her efforts.

The two times Ladies World Champion was on 113 with Taylor down at 170. But she missed the big 13 for a shot. Taylor drifted into treble five going for 170; Suzuki hit double 16 third dart in hand to get on the board.

One more leg was set before the break; as Suzuki aimed to go one away from Taylor. She did so in style hitting a 150 checkout to make it 3-2. A 135 set up saw Taylor leave 32 and he hit it first time to make it 4-2 with another £200 raised.

Taylor was ahead and first to a finish with a 61 checkout but Suzuki left double 20. The former pinned it though to go two away at 5-2 up.

Suzuki pinned double 16 to go two behind though to keep herself in proceedings. They were on 126 (Suzuki) and 118 (Taylor) respectively but the latter put himself on 35.

Suzuki was on 40 but Taylor made an error going inside on double 13 and the former hit double 10 to go only one behind.

Another 180 was hit by the Japanese ace to leave 140 with Taylor back on 321. The former was on 55 and hit it third dart around and it left proceedings locked at 5-5.

A brilliant 180 from 'The Power' saw another £1,000 added to the total and left him on 46. He hit it first time around adding another £200.

In what could be the last leg, they exchanged 180's with Taylor hitting a second one to leave nine and he hit it to claim victory.
