Luke Littler is joining forces with a world-famous fast food chain. The darts sensation is the new face of McDonald's in Britain, promoting its newest burger: The Big Arch.
The Big Arch is described as a hearty bite: two burgers, multiple slices of white cheddar, crispy and chopped onion, lettuce, pickle and, of course, the iconic sauce - all wrapped in a bun with poppy and sesame seeds. "The Big Arch has landed, go check it out and see what all the hype is about!" he wrote on Instagram.
The fast food giant has cleverly capitalized on Littler's image and background. The commercial shows the darter in a gray polo shirt walking into his local McDonald's in Warrington. Just like at a major tournament, he makes his way through a cheering crowd eager to give him high-fives. After a brief warm-up, he focuses on his target: The Big Arch. Order number 180 - how could it be otherwise - is called out, after which Littler takes a big bite out of the burger with a visible appetite.
Proud
He proudly posed with the new meal and also took ample time to have his picture taken with the staff present. A bystander told The Sun, "We heard he had made a deal. There were extras cheering when he came in and the place was closed for at least three to four hours for filming. There was also security standing by. You weren't allowed to bring a phone in."
Littler is not only making significant headway athletically. The young darter is now a sought-after name for major brands. He has previously signed collaborations with Xbox and clothing brand BoohooMAN, and earned money from a promotional campaign for the "best kebab in the country.
Yet his rise has also had setbacks. Shortly after filming, Littler played at the World Cup of Darts in Germany, where he and world champion Luke Humphries were eliminated by the host country in the very first round. The German public once again turned against Littler, he continues his European Tour boycott for now.
