Martijn Dragt has become the first player to secure a PDC Tour Card for the next two years at
European Q-School with his daily victory on Thursday.
Dragt had to come back from a 5-2 deficit in the final to win 6-5 over recent Lakeside finalist,
Chris Landman. In the semifinals, he also survived a matchdart against Mario Vandenbogaerde. "There are so many good players here," Dragt said to the PDC afterwards. "To win in the final against Chris, unbelievable!"
"The doubles were the key to the match," Dragt analyses of the dramatic final. "My doubles were very strong all day."
The 35-year-old Dutchman managed to qualify for the Baltic Sea Darts Open as a qualifier last year. There he consecutively defeated Ricky Evans and Rob Cross only to lose to Ryan Searle in the last 16. "It was a fantastic year last year. To win on the Euro Tour was so unbelievable, against a world champion too was fantastic."
