Luke Littler has won Night Five of the 2025 Premier League Darts in Brighton. 'The Nuke' was too strong for Nathan Aspinall in the final on Thursday night, 6-3. It is already his second weekly title this Premier League campaign for Littler, who solidifies his second place in the standings. The world champion now travels on to Belgium, where he will be in action this weekend at the Belgian Darts Open. In Wieze last year, he recorded his first ever title on the European Tour and he is eager to successfully defend that title.
Littler defeated successively Chris Dobey, Michael van Gerwen and the aforementioned Nathan Aspinall in the final on his way to the weekly title in Brighton. Only in his opening match against Dobey (6-5), did 'The Nuke' ever really seem threarened by his opponent. “Coming off the back of the UK Open I was playing really well, and I think I played very well tonight,” reflected Littler afterwards. “I’ve always been confident in my own ability, but the way my darts are going at the minute, it’s probably the best I’ve ever played on a consistent basis. That is why I can find those extra gears and dig myself out of trouble when I need to."
“My main goal is to make the top four," Littler adds somewhat modestly. "Whether it’s first, second, third or fourth, it’s about making it to The O2, and that’s when the proper title defence takes place.”
Not for the first time this year though, the Premier League Darts action on Thursday night was plagued by some crowd trouble. As revealed by Littler post-match, Aspinall was on the receiving end of the crowds vitriol this time, having a beer launched at him.
"I think there was a pint thrown at Nathan as soon as he came up on the stage. Crazy," Littler detailed, reflecting on the mixed reception players have recieved from Premier League Darts audiences this season. "I think we all know some have been good, some have been a bit bad. But that is the darts fans for you: they are either good or they are either bad."
