This weekend marks the conclusion of the 2023 PDC Challenge Tour

From Saturday through Monday, the final five Challenge Tour tournaments of the season are scheduled. This circuit is open to players who participated in the Q-School but did not win a Tour Card there.

The Challenge Tour consists of 24 tournaments. Nineteen of these have already been played. Through the ranking, various prizes can be earned. The number one may participate in the Grand Slam of Darts and the World Darts Championship, and also receives a PDC Tour Card for the next two seasons.

The runner-up may also compete in the World Darts Championship and will also receive a Tour Card for 2024 and 2025. In addition, the first eight players on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit who do not have a Tour Card in 2024 may compete in the UK Open in March 2024.

The Challenge Tour Order of Merit is currently led gloriously by Berry van Peer with 12,800 pounds. Number two Christian Kist follows with 7200 pounds, with Cameron Crabtree (6975 pounds) and Owen Bates (6550 pounds) shortly behind. So Van Peer seems to be eligible for the top prizes anyway, while Kist is still in the race for a Tour Card. In fact, Kist is already going to qualify for the World Darts Championship via the Pro Tour, so the ticket for the World Darts Championship will go to the number three if Kist comes second.

Behind the top four, there are still a number of contenders who may still hold out hope of capturing second place and possibly third place behind Van Peer. These players include John Henderson, Andy Boulton, Wesley Plaisier and Chris Landman.
