The 29th edition of the
PDC World Darts Championship starts on December 15. Ahead of the start of this tournament, Dartsnews looks back on some beautiful and remarkable events in the history of this event.
This time we focus on the fantastic World Championship final in 2007 between
Phil Taylor and
Raymond van Barneveld. The Power' took a 3-0 lead in sets, but 'Barney' slowly but surely came back in the match.
It eventually became 6-6 in sets and then 5-5 in legs. A deciding leg had to decide who would win the world title. Van Barneveld had the throw in the last leg, but it was Taylor who opened best with a 180.
The Dutchman countered with a maximum score of his own and then left tops after twelve arrows. Taylor couldn't finish 140 and Van Barneveld took his fifth world title as he landed his dart on tops.
