From December 15, the 30th edition of the World Darts Championship at the PDC begins. In the run-up to the start of this tournament, DartsNews looks back on beautiful and remarkable events from the history of the World Championship.
This time we focus on the fantastic 2007 final between Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld. 'The Power' took a 3-0 lead in sets, but 'Barney' slowly but surely came back into the match.
It eventually became 6-6 sets and then 5-5 in legs. A deciding leg had to decide who would walk away with the world title. Van Barneveld earned the throw in the last leg, but it was Taylor who opened best with a 180 score.
However, the Dutchman countered back with a maximum score and then left tops after 12 arrows. Taylor could not throw out 140, after which Van Barneveld took his fifth world title via tops.
