On a dramatic evening at the
US Darts Masters that saw both Michael Smith and Peter Wright dumped out,
Luke Humphries held his nerve. Despite the win though, the performance left Humphries disappointed.
"It was a crazy crazy experience," reveals Humphries in a post-match interview with Online Darts. "I've been looking forward to it for such a long time and I expected myself to play a lot better."
"I can't really explain why I was pushing and pulling and searching for it. It was just one of them gamed where I couldn't find it," laments the Englishman. Nevertheless, he was a winner and successfully progressed to the next round.
"If I'm honest I thought Alex was gonna really push me and he didn't play his best there, but I'm in the next round and you know this gives me the opportunity tomorrow to put it right and play a lot better. Because I won't be making it any further if I don't play better than that if I don't play better than that."
