In one of the performances of the opening nights action at the
World Cup of Darts, the German pairing of
Gabriel Clemens and
Martin Schindler looked like a well-oiled machine in a 4-0 win over Hong Kong.
“It’s a very good start. Martin played amazing darts tonight,” Clemens told the official website of the PDC after the match. “We have a lot of confidence. We are a good team and we know that, but tomorrow is a new day.”
The pair reached the quarter-finals together twelve months ago and enter this year's event as a dark horse for many people.
“I think if we play our game we have a chance, definitely,” a confident Schindler proclaimed. “I think we have shown that we are capable of winning this title, but tonight was the first step, and now we have to focus on tomorrow.”
