Alan Warriner cheer 1000
For twenty years, the highest average thrown at the World Grand Prix has been in the hands of Alan Warriner. The original Iceman threw an average of 106.45 in his first round match against Andy Jenkins during the 2001 edition.
In recent years, no one has come close to that average. Gary Anderson came closest in 2013. The Scot won thanks to an average of 104.86 2-0 in sets against Jelle Klaasen.
In the same year Michael van Gerwen threw an average of 104.47 at the double start tournament.
Furthermore, the Green Machine has also thrown averages of 103.09 and 101.54 at the World Grand Prix. Four of the remaining five spots in the top ten are all held by Phil Taylor. Last year, Dave Chisnall grabbed an average on the list by hitting 102.85 in the first round against Glen Durrant.
