The legendary career of former world champion
Steve Beaton takes another step closer to its final end this afternoon in Leicester as the 'Bronzed Adonis' plays in his final
Pro Tour event.
A much loved figure with both fans of the sport and his fellow professionals, Beaton has become an iconic figure in darts, as much due to his signature style as his silky smooth throwing action. Marking the occasion of the former Lakeside champion's final appearance at a
Players Championship event, a number of Beaton's fellow pros have turned up to the Mattioli Arena in Leicester dressed in 'Bronzed Adonis' fancy dress!
As seen in a social media post by
Chris Dobey, the likes of 'Hollywood' himself,
Jonny Clayton, John Henderson, Ryan Joyce, Joe Cullen, Ross Smith and more can all be seen with a long brown mullet and moustache combination, akin to the Beaton of the 90s. "What else could we do to celebrate the career of a legend," Dobey writes.
Notably, in his first round match at Players Championship 30, Beaton faces off against Dutchman, Niels Zonneveld. With a spot at the Alexandra Palace this December far from assured for Beaton, the legend needs one final big run to ensure a World Darts Championship farewell this Christmas time.
