Tricole seals second career Challenge Tour title with Event Five win, back-to-back finals for Bates

Thibault Tricole leaves the first weekend of Challenge Tour clear on the Order of Merit after sealing his second career title in Event Five in Milton Keynes.

Tricole sits ahead of Andy Boulton and Christian Kist as well as Cam Crabtree and Chris Landman, the other two winners this weekend with reserve spots of course for the Players Championship potentially up for grabs.

Defeating Owen Bates in the final, it was back-to-back finals for 'The Master' who lost to Crabtree yesterday. The practice partner of Ryan Searle lost 5-2 to 'The French Touch' who backs up a poor Q-School showing where his compatriot, Jacques Labre made history as the first Tour Card holder.

On this tour, reserve spots for the Pro Tour 2023 and Tour Cards for 2024 and 2025 can be earned. The highest-placed players on the PDC Challenge Tour Order of Merit qualify for the reserve spots on the Players Championships.

The number one and two on the Challenge Tour ranking will be offered a PDC Tour Card at the end of the season for the following two seasons. In addition, they may also participate in the PDC World Darts Championship.
