After two weekly titles in a row,
Luke Littler is the new leader of the 2024
Premier League Darts. Thursday night in Birmingham, 'The Nuke' will try to secure another triumph and cement his lead even further.
Littler can become the third player in this season to win three weekly titles in a row. Previously, Michael van Gerwen and Luke Humphries managed this feat. Incidentally, no one has ever managed to win four weekly titles in a row in the Premier League.
''I’m just going to keep plugging away,'' Littler said ahead of his duel against Rob Cross, in conversation with the PDC. ''Every week I’m playing against players I have looked up to, and I just thrive off it.''
With 23 points after 11 rounds of play, Littler is in an excellent position to make the playoffs on his debut in the Premier League. However, the 17-year-old teenage sensation does not want to count his chickens just yet.
"I’m in a good position, but until I see a little ‘q’ next to my name which means I’ve qualified, I’ve still got work to do. It would mean a lot to make it three in a row in Birmingham, but it’s all about picking up those points over the next few weeks and making the top four.”
