Woodhouse had to come through flu symptoms to play some quality darts and Van den Bergh admitted that it just wasn't going for him in the early going.
The Belgian added that he feels so 'lucky' to be through to the next round; as well as that the match was an example of a difficult day.
"Mentally it was so difficult, I haven't felt comfortable throughout that whole game. I was really surprised with the way Luke was playing. I watched his game against Michael Smith and also his first game and those two together, I was impressed,
As soon as I went up on that stage, I was pushing, trying and thinking, speaking to myself. I was thinking come on, family is there, management is there, maybe they can give you a bit of encouragement so I kept digging in. It was so difficult, I feel lucky to be through." said Van den Bergh to LiveDarts.
"Today was one of those days that was difficult. I had to do it under pressure. I am pretty lucky in my eyes. I have the right team behind me, these people make me the player I am."
