It has been a tournament of firsts for Dimitri van den Bergh as he makes his first appearance in a major televised final on Sunday evening at the World Matchplay in Milton Keynes.

Van den Bergh became the ninth player to reach the semi-finals on his debut at the World Matchplay and is now one of only seven players to be unseeded and reach the final.
Interestingly enough, he is also the first in 14 years with James Wade the last player to achieve the feat in 2006. Larry Butler and Peter Evison are the only players who have gone onto win the title as a result.
While Wade has won the title, he did so a year after so can 'The Dreammaker' add himself further to the history books with victory over Gary Anderson later.
