Dimitri van den Bergh is into a third consecutive
World Matchplay Quarter-Final after seeing off Rowby-John Rodriguez 11-6 and will now play Peter Wright in a repeat of their final last year.
"I had to work hard, I've got to put in a lot of mental job (effort). The finishing, that double 18 is working so well. I'm just so chuffed, I'm happy. Hard work pays off. It doesn't matter what it is, it's either at your own private job or at the darts. If you put all your effort, at some moment it's going to pay you back and I think that's what's happening here," said Van den Bergh post match.
"It seems to be a tournament made for me. Let's keep it going, let's crack on, onto the Quarter-Finals. I've got to do it again with just a little bit more strength in my scoring and whoever can stop me, I don't know. The sky's the limit but I'm believing in myself."
At the time Wright wasn't confirmed as his opponent but for Van den Bergh, it's all about making it all the way.
"I would love to have another crack at the final. I would like to have that not managed to win this trophy with the crowd behind me. I'm only a couple of games away. I'm not scared of anybody, I think I'm proving it. I think I'm playing against the greatest and whoever is in front of me, it doesn't really matter anymore. It's just Dimitri van den Bergh does his business."
