Van den Bergh spoke afterwards and believed that it could have been a different story if Wright was on his game and that staying undefeated was the main thing.
"Coming off here with a point against Peter (Wright), I managed to get a point against Michael (van Gerwen) so I'm still undefeated and I'm feeling really well, I'm feeling confident. I feel like I'm a fighter, I never backed down," said Van den Bergh post match to Sky Sports.
"I'm still feeling that I gained a point because I know that when he turns on, it could have been a whole lot more different. Onto the next day and I'm still loving the experience."
"I'm here as part of the elite and I want to show that I belong here."
