PREMLGE NIGHT3 CROSS1A
Rob Cross claimed another win in this year's Premier League Darts on Night Four by seeing off Jonny Clayton to jump to fifth in the table.
"I was happy to win obviously. Don't get me wrong, I was happy with the control again. I've been very controlled this week, I think I've been calm. In a way, I feel in control of my own game at the minute. So it's nice but Jonny didn't play his best either," said Cross post match.
He also discussed how his game has improved from last year as well as his defeat to Michael van Gerwen the previous night.
"If you looked at the averages last year, it was erratic. If you look at me, if you would have asked me I would have felt erratic and that was just me. I'm a big believer that last night there were certain points I wasn't strong enough on my own throw which obviously put me behind. The only thing that disappointed me was I just thought just get a bit of grip between your teeth and I never done that."
Criticism from Mardle
Cross has received some criticism as of late around his pause from Wayne Mardle and he fired back at that.
"If I want to pause, if I don't want to throw for the bullseye I won't and to be honest, I pay my own bills, I feed my kids. No-one else can tell me how they think that they should play the game because I pay my own bills. If Wayne wanted to have that much of an opinion, tell him to pay my bills and I will throw the way he wants."
"When he starts feeding my kids mouths, he can do that but apart from that, if he's not doing that, he's irrelevant."
