Van den Bergh smashes record for highest average by Belgian player on European Tour

Dimitri van den Bergh set out his stall on Saturday night at the European Darts Matchplay with an incredible 110.83 average to down Florian Hempel and reach the third round.

But as well as sending out a statement to the rest of the opposition after winning back-to-back World Series titles also, he also broke a Belgian average record.

He smashed the previous mark set by Kim Huybrechts all the way back in 2013 against Stuart Kellett when he hit 108.51 and also a further addition to the record books in 2015 when he faced Max Hopp and hit 107.36.
