The first semi-final at the Austrian Darts Championship is confirmed with Vincent van der Voort through to face home hero Mensur Suljovic later.
Van der Voort saw off Cameron Menzies and brought his run to an end with the potential still there for him to face best friend, Michael van Gerwen in the final.
Menzies started well claiming the first leg but had problems getting into the tie from there. Van der Voort capitalised on him only averaging 76 by hitting the front at 3-1 up.
He added to that with a 108 checkout for a 12 darter with a 4-1 advantage as a result. Menzies finally found his range though and it was soon 5-4 with him claiming a break of throw.
Despite that though it was too much of a mountain to climb for the Challenge Tour leader with 'The Dutch Destroyer' confirming his semi-final spot.
As did
Mensur Suljovic as 'The Gentle' continues to thrill his home crowd in Vienna. He claimed a 6-4 win in what was a really close clash right till the end.
White went 2-1 up early doors and he continued to put the pressure on Suljovic. This time by going 3-2 ahead with a 106 average to Suljovic's 100.
Suljovic finally claimed control of the match pinning tops to go 4-3 ahead. Despite that though, White responded with a 100 checkout.
White wired double seven for a 122 checkout and Suljovic went one away. From there he finished the job to claim a 6-4 victory to delight the crowd.
