Dirk van Duijvenbode will face Rob Cross in the second semi-final of the 2023 European Darts Open in Leverkusen, with runs ending for Josh Rock and Ricardo Pietrezcko.
'Aubergenius' won 6-3 over Rock. Van Duijvenbode was still a break down after five legs, but broke Rock back in the sixth leg with an 11-darter. He then struggled to hold his throw, before Van Duijvenbode took the win with a 12-darter and a 117 finish.
In the semi-final, Van Duijvenbode will take on Rob Cross, who was too strong 6-5 for Pietreczko in the quarter-finals. This included a superb 140 checkout to go 3-2 up and a 72 checkout to seal the deal in a tense decider. The other semi-final is between Danny Noppert and Gerwyn Price.
