Van Gerwen celebrates nine years of marriage to his wife Daphne

A happy day for Michael van Gerwen. 'Mighty Mike' has been married to his wife Daphne for exactly nine years today. On Aug. 1, 2014, they got married to each other.

Under the watchful eye of fellow darters Vincent van der Voort and James Wade, referee George Noble and then-walk-on Sammi Marsh, among others, they said yes to each other at the Vlijmen Town Hall at the time.

Van der Voort understands Van Gerwen's decision to skip World Series events Down Under: "Otherwise it becomes a bit of a grind"

The couple had their first child in August 2017. Daphne then gave birth to a daughter, who was named Zoë. Then, in April 2020, son Mike was born.

The kids can spend cozy time with their darting father during the month of August. In fact, Van Gerwen decided to skip the World Series tournaments in New Zealand and Australia in order to spend vacation time with his family.
