Michael van Gerwen produced a late surge to see off Dimitri van den Bergh 17-14 and reach the final of the World Matchplay and he always had the belief he would comeback into the tie.
"Did I believe in my own comeback? I was never towards that I was going to lose this game. I always had the belief, one more leg and I'll hurt him but you've still got to do it. It was quite tough but I managed to do it and I'm proud of myself."
Discussing Van den Bergh post match, he was honest about his thoughts on the game of the Belgian.
"He's quite boring to play against but that's one of those things it happens in darts unfortunately and you have to deal with the situation."
Asked if it was realistic to reach the final given everything that went on prior with surgery, Van Gerwen didn't believe it was.
"If it was realistic probably not, you need to believe in your own ability and of course to be in the final it's a huge plus for me and I hope there's room for improvement."
But that despite his usual confidence, he believes Price goes off as favourite in the final form wise.
"I think Gezzy is favourite, I think he's playing better darts than me in this tournament but if you're going to look purely to mental strength, then I might be favourite. You never know, it's a different game."
