Fallon Sherrock will take place in the inaugural Women's World Matchplay this afternoon with all eyes set to be on the Milton Keynes ace once more as she looks to create another piece of history starting off with facing Katie Sheldon.
“I think it will be amazing,” said Sherrock. “It has always been an ambition to play at the Winter Gardens, and the women get an opportunity to play now. I’m so excited!"
“Katie is a really good player. She is so consistent and I’m really excited to play her, because you know you’re in for a good game.
“Hopefully we can show everyone what we can do.”
On the line as well as the trophy is a spot in this year's Grand Slam of Darts and after her run to the Quarter-Finals last year, it is firmly in the sights of the 27-year-old.
“If I could get to the Grand Slam again that would be amazing, because I had a really good run there last time,” she added.
“If I get the opportunity again, I want to get out of my group and go even further.
“I want to push myself as much as I can, because I enjoyed the Grand Slam so much. It’s an amazing atmosphere, the adrenaline rush was brilliant, it’s just a great tournament.”
But not only that but also legacy is on the mind of Sherrock who looks to make her son proud and win as much as she can.
“I just know that one day I want to be a world champion – whether it be in the women’s game or the men’s game,” Sherrock concluded.
“I want to win a major title as well, and make as much history as I can so people remember me when I’m done.
“Then I can look back and say to my little boy: ‘This is what mummy did’ and he can be really proud of me.”
